About Beaver Cross and our Diocesan Ministry to Our Youth
Beaver Cross Camp is the centerpiece of the Episcopal Diocese of Albany's ministry to the youth of the region. For decades, BC has been introducing young people to their Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, in a loving, safe, and fun-filled environment. Today we offer 7 week-long overnight camp sessions and 8 Day camp sessions to kids from 1st to 12th grade (K-7th for day camp), and welcome youth of all denominational, cultural and socio-economic backgrounds. Our prayer is that BC would be a home away from homes for all of its campers, and that through their camp experience they would develop deep and abiding relationships with Jesus and each other that will last a lifetime, and beyond.
Looking beyond our Summer Camp, youth ministry for the diocese has expanded a great deal in the last eight years since we moved from Cooperstown to Greenwich, New York. We now offer inspirational Christian retreats for teens, confirmation retreats, youth healing retreats, retreats for youth leaders, summer day camp, year round daycare for young children, after school youth group and programs for local children. We are also host to girls scouts, boy scouts and other youth groups. In addition, Fr Tyler Slade brings our ministry beyond the grounds of the Spiritual Life Center by leading sunday worship for youth, deanery wide youth meetings, Bible Studies, youth worship nights and other events for youth all over the region.
